Broken Homes Destructive Offspring

Gangs must be remove from the community and erase from the culture

Youth have become the newest tool used against communities of color, and neither the cause nor its impact on the community is being addressed. In the past four weeks, shootings have surged. The initial incident occurred in Brownsville LG, where an innocent child was shot in the leg. Just days later, a 9-month-old child was killed during a shooting on a Brooklyn street in broad daylight.

Just hours later, another shooting occurred in Queens, where a 15-year-old boy named Jaden Pierre was shot while being attacked by a group of teenagers in his own neighborhood.

The murder was recorded by other teenagers documenting the crime, unaware of one teen's intentions. Three teens assaulted Jaden, questioning him while attacking him, before delivering a fatal shot that ended his life. The sound of the gunshot sent everyone into a panic, prompting them to flee the scene while still recording their reactions. One girl's footage captured her surprise at the outcome of their actions as she realized what she had witnessed, and her regret became apparent. Posting the footage also raised questions about mental stability, knowing law enforcement would soon be at their doorstep as a result. Trauma upon trauma acts as a form of control in communities of color, akin to a drug for daily survival. The impact was so overwhelming that the community called for an Emergency Community Meeting organized by Senator Leroy Comrie's Office. This meeting offered more of the same without new solutions, leaving many confused as the room filled with community activists, crisis response teams, and local state agencies, all seeking the community's perspective. The public posed interesting questions, though the main point was somewhat lost in translation.

The community is furious as people call for accountability and the arrest of all those involved. Meanwhile, the criminal is still on the loose, avoiding capture because of a corrupt system's protection. Who is to blame for the inability to safeguard innocent victims?

Many are blaming the parents because their child has been released and equipped with illegal weapons capable of causing mass destruction seemingly out of nowhere. This overlooks the fact that parents' hands are tied, as the state criminalizes them for disciplining their children, allowing these kids to be raised without accountability and expecting them to behave responsibly.

An important question is being forgotten: why do these assaults only happen to people of color when other ethnic groups also exist within the same geographical area?

For centuries, our community has been the target of aggression with minimal support to tackle the issue. We have been, and continue to be, targeted by an anonymous enemy intent on controlling and governing every aspect of our lives.

Any real assistance to improve the development of the community is undermined and left in the care of the corrupted to maintain full control and if exposed dismantled reconstructed to create maximize damage and yet the community continua to look the opposite way as accendibility and sacrifice arrived with consequences many are unwilling to except.

IN THE PARK DRUING THE SHOOTING

Brother recounted the events that occurred, which were somewhat unfortunate for everyone present in the park at that moment. He heard the shot and saw the commotion before concluding his account of the incident. Overwhelmed by the entire situation, he agreed to volunteer his time to mentor teenagers in the future.

Boots on the Ground Community Activism

This brother called out the entablement for their continual effects to block request for support for local actives within the community center for which it was created for. Interesting given the fact kids "the youth" were their force point of interest.

Parents come forward on behalf of their children, aware that their involvement might result in arrests or potential convictions, as many youths in the community are involved in this unfortunate situation. Accountability and sacrifice bring consequences that many are reluctant to accept. Nevertheless, the community is under threat, and sacrifices must be made for the greater good. The question today is who is prepared to stand first, defend second, and face the consequences. Today, it's Jaden's family; tomorrow, it could be ours. When do we stand up in defense of ourselves?

Law enforcement emphasized that although no arrests have been made, they will be focusing on the youth moving forward. More law enforcement presence is expected, without a doubt. The youth have requested police and cameras, and they are prepared to cooperate. This remains a concern and serves as a warning, which is not the response the community anticipated, yet it's important to recognize the underlying tone in the message.

I am Dr. Marcus, the Director of Community Advocate and Development Organization.

For years we have been advocating for safe streets and in our community. However, I find it difficult to accomplish safety in our communities because of the lack of UNITY and Love amongst our people, especially older adults and and because it it's reflecting in the attitude of our children. "We can't build a safe community without love and unity for each other". It's TIME to BRIDGE the GAP!
